Frozen Hot Chocolate (Light Version)

hot-to-make-frozen-hot-chocolate-lightWhile the name, Frozen Hot Chocolate, really makes no sense, it still sounds delicious. In fact, Serendipity, a famous ice cream parlor in New York City, has made the name synonomous with heaven.

I’ve included a version of their recipe here in case you have the time or inclination to make the full-fat, full-flavor version. But if you’re like me and just want a cool, refreshing treat that you can make in a couple minutes with what you have on hand, here you go.

All you need is:
-2-3 scoops of your favorite hot chocolate mix
-1 cup skim milk
-handful ice cubes
-6-8 frozen skim milk cubes (optional)

I like to use frozen milk cubes because it gives it that blended texture without watering it down. I still use a few ice cubes though if it needs some more “crunch”. The amount of milk, ice and chocolateย will vary a little depending on your preference.

Pour your milk cubes, 2-3 scoops of hot chocolate mix and skim milk into a blender and blend. You can add more milk or some ice cubes depending on the consistency you want.

Mine turned into a yummy, frozen blended drink that is also nice and light.

This is so simple, but on a hot day, it really hits the spot! And it’s guilt-free…if you care about that ๐Ÿ™‚
